Currently, there is not method to add distinct DNS servers to an access zone.  If you have completely different AD forests that have no trust and you need Isilon to work against these ADs the only thing you can do is insert a DNS forwarder/server in front of the Isilon.  So this new DNS box stitches the disparate networks together.  This may or may not work for you.

Andrew,

so what you are saying is that if i have two entirely separate forests, that reside on entirely two different subnets with its own DNS servers ..Isilon alone will not be able to handle this kind multi-tenancy ?

Thanks for the response guys. I have checked with isilon support and there is no way to add second set of DNS entries. Only thing we can do is to add the DEV domain name to the DNS search list and then add the dnsserver3,4 to the dns server list. But there is a limitation of 3 dns server entries on the dns server list.

Hi

Could you please explain more on how you did that. If we have a DNS for AD to which we joined the Isilon cluster, how do i check what DNS is being used ?

Thanks

Damal

Hi!

We have the same problem, two different AD's and forests, and 2 different DNS servers, each in seperate isolated networks.

We need to join AD number 3 from a new seperate isolated network with it's own DNS.

It can join the domain if the "new" DNS server is one of the two first in the DNS list, but it will then cause a problem for the DNS server thats in the third entry of the dns server list.

Is there anyway to achive this without open up communication between the DNS servers for forwarding.

would DNS delegation work?

Can one create another zone and add srv records for that domain in one of the other active directory integrated DNS servers?

Best would be to be able to use DNS servers pr' access Zone but i understand that is not possible,

Thanks
