NDMP Backup Performance
Are there any whitepapers on NDMP configuration and performance for Isilon?

Backup performance can be highly subjective, depending on your environment, chosen backup product, networking and so-on. Are the NDMP backups over GigE? 10GigE? FC over the Backup Accelerator? In each case, similarly configured network connections with different backup software will have different performance characteristics.
In our environment, we could sustain 80MB/s (peak) writes from NL nodes connected via FC on a Backup Accelerator, using Symantec NetBackup 7.0.1 as the DMA. On the same system, NDMP over GigE with IBM TSM was rarely over 60MB/s.

Sustained 100 MBytes/s per stream seen over here with NDMP and this path:
IQ108NL -> Backup accel -> GigE -> Symantec MB 7.1 -> IBM LTO 5, block size 256 KB
(Similar or better over FC, but can't use currently)
