OneFS 8.2/ OneFS 8.2.1 Customer installable???
We are currently running OneFS 8.1.2 on our A200 Isilon Cluster and are trying out changelist backups. We found out that the Changelist APIs have been broken since 8.X.X days well over a year ago. I heard the solution is to go to 8.2/8.2.1 We can see the code download, but we get a message saying that remote support must install the upgrade. OneFS upgrades have always for us been customer installable and if you wanted EMC/Dell to assist they would do that. We have been an Isilon customer for 7/8 years, we find this very disappointing for having to get this scheduled and that the changelist API bug has been out for over a year and there isn't a patch for 8.1.X code instead of forcing people to go 8.2 We also have NL400 that can't go 8.2, so we are stuck that we will never be able to do changelist backups on that box. Is the future of Isilon upgrades going to be performed by DellEMC only?

This is to inform you that effective immediately all upgrades to OneFS 8.2.x are required to utilize Remote Proactive Services. This is being done to provide a consistent and positive upgrade experience, and will be provided to all customers at no additional cost.
Additionally, another bug - Bug 260229 has been identified in OneFS 8.2.1. This is a variation of the deadlock described in KB 491579 which was believed to have been fixed in OneFS 8.2.1. To prevent customers from encountering this bug, the OneFS 8.2.1 installation file has been restricted on the support site and all scheduled upgrades have been postponed while a resolution is completed. This is currently expected within two weeks and will likely require a new build of OneFS 8.2.1. Customers who have already upgraded to the current build of OneFS 8.2.1 will be required to upgrade to the new build when made available and an FCO will be created to schedule the upgrades. All future patches will be built only for the new build of OneFS 8.2.1
As a reminder, all upgrades from OneFS 8.1.x to OneFS 8.2.x for clusters configured with CloudPools are still on hold while the upgrade experience is improved for those environments. More details will be released as they are made available.

Siraj82.
Thank you for explaining this. I reached out to my support team before I posted this thread and they didn't mention this.
