PowerScale Node add auto downgrade

Question

Hello, We have a customer with a current cluster with H400 nodes on OneFS version 9.1.0.x and they purchased new A2000 nodes that came with 9.3.0.x. I have seen conflicting information about if when we add the new nodes to the current cluster if the cluster will auto downgrade to match on 9.1 or not.  Will the node add process match them at 9.1 automatically or should we re-image the new nodes to 9.1 before hand? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Thanks for your question. Is there a reason why you are not upgrading all of the nodes to 9.3? That would be the recommended option. I would manually install 9.1 if that is what you want to use. I don’t see anything that says it will auto install the older version to match.
