Upgrade from OneFS 5.5.7.9 to 6.5.5.23

HI,

I need to upgrade my 10 node IQ36NL cluster, I know I have to do a simultaneous upgrade and that there is a file conversion that takes place. The cluster is using 250TB of storage ~77% of capacity. How long to estimate the upgrade/conversion will take. And is the conversion an online process so the cluster is available to users.

Thanks for any help,

Mike

Simultaneous upgrade to OneFSv6.5.5.23 will finish about 20 minutes from my experience.

However, data conversion will take a much more time.

It's up to how many file do you have and the file tree.

I think you need 2-3 days or more to finish the data conversion.

However, users could access to the cluster as it is online process.

If you have some scheduled snapshots, it may interrupts data conversion(Upgrade) job.

Following command will make SnapshotDelete jobs priority lower than Upgrade.

# isi job config --path=jobs.types.snapshotdelete.priority=4

If you want to revert it to default following:

# isi job config --path=jobs.types.snapshotdelete.priority=2
