Can you upgrade a Dell Inspiron N5050?

YES YOU CAN! Up to an Intel Core i5-2540M Mobile Processor 2.6GHz@3,3 turbo and 16GB's ram@1333mhz and ssd drive ..Its easy to upgrade this laptop-Do a search on YouTube or download the service manual @Dell

Depends on starting point and what you use it for. I upgraded to an i5-2540M and put an SSD in, still going strong for business with some gaming.

For business (spreadsheets etc...) I'd say the SSD was the best choice (faster data load), if gaming the i5 for the better graphics performance. Overall the SSD, since my original N5050 came with a pentium (B960?) and was never gonna do gaming in any meaningful way (World of Tanks say).

Hope this helps, but if not post more details of current configuration and will try again. Or you could go SSD since it will move anyway and see results then decide if a CPU upgrade makes sense too.
