Dell XPS 1530 - Automatic switch off
Hi,
I have a 2 year old XPS M1530 Laptop which automatically switches off during an operation. It could happen all of a sudden while watching a movie, internet browsing or while sending emails . The bottom of the laptop also gets very hot.
I reformatted the hard drive and tried seeing if this works but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

The system is overheating - first check would be that the fan is working (F12 at powerup; Dell diagnostics). Second check: clean the heatsink assembly of accumulated dust.
