Hinge broke connecting screen to laptop base!!!

Hello.

As I was opening my laptop top/lid, I heard a popping noise, and was unable to fully open the top part (the part that houses the laptop screen).

The black piece of plastic came off, and I noticed that the silver metal piece (like an elbow hinge) broke in two.  The left side is fine.

Is it possible to order this metal piece and install it easily, or do I need to purchase an entire screen portion??

Thank you.

Peter

p.s. This is an Inspiron 4000

I have an Inspiron 3500 and the same thing happened to me. I paid to have the plastics replaced (I had to change both the bezels and the screen cover) but a few months later they broke again (even though I was very careful)! Very poor quality, I'm afraid.
