Inspiron 15R SE 7520 video card not working after Windows 8.1 update
The internal graphics are Intel HD 4000 and the graphics card is a Radeon HD 7730M. After updating to Windows 8.1 almost everything worked, except it only uses the on-board Intel graphics. Now the resolution isn't right and parts of the Windows interface look rather poor in comparison.
What I've tried:
- Uninstalling the video card drivers
- Re-installing the Dell drivers for the video card
- Installing the latest beta drivers directly from the AMD website
- Disabling the on-board Intel graphics
- Uninstalling the on-board Intel graphics
So now what?

So Windows Update downloaded the Intel graphics driver, and you downloaded the AMD one from their site? Also, have you had any black screens?

I got v 10.18.10.3316 through windows update (optional update). And tried both the beta and stable AMD drivers. Still nothing.
Thanks any way.

So, the version of the intel(R) Graphics HD 4000 is 10.18.10.3316.
Can u check the version of the AMD radeon 7730M now?

Wow that is really hidden, nice find! Would have been great if they'd actually added it to the Inspiron 15R 5720 SE drivers page. For the specific driver pages:
AMD: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/inspiron-15r-se-7520?driverId=9NNDW
Intel: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/inspiron-15r-se-7520?driverId=KK6CK

Worked for me too, although I had to install the hd4000 driver from devices/update driver/browse driver location (running setup returned a 'this driver is not compatible with your configuration' message). After rebooting and installing the catalyst driver (also from the linked page) I got it all working again... for now (hopefully at least until Windows 8.1.01b :)
Oh and before installing I did start in safe mode and remove video drivers with Driver fusion.
I agree hiding the link is a bit weird... but then again, Dell support is quite <ADMIN NOTE: Substitute character removed as per TOU>.

....Huh?
I have a Inspiron 15R 5520, tried my page. Got "'this driver is not compatible with your configuration'" message. What did you do?
Here's my log:

Thanks for the links. Have these drivers been pretty stable for you? Like, have you had any black screens?

The problem was fixed on my Inspiron 15R ES 7520
It was a combination of drivers and windows settings
I downloaded these drivers here and installed them all
http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&cat=sup&k=inspiron+7520&rpp=12&p=1&rf=all&nk=f&ira=False&~srd=False&ipsys=False&advsrch=False&~ck=tab
(if the link doesn't work just go to dell website, search inspiron 7520, and click on Help & support for a list of all updated drivers.)
Then I ran windows update, with an optional update for the Intel HD Graphics 4000)
But the resolution on my pc still looked strange
Luckily I found this:
http://windowsforum.com/threads/fuzzy-text-icons-after-upgrading-to-windows-8-1-solution-here.178515/
Changed everything to 100% scale and now my resolution looks fine.
I've not tested the AMD driver performance in games, I'm too scared to do so. I've already wasted 3 days on this. NO thanks to you DELL support.

The problem seemed fixed to me. The screen was ok, the drivers were ok, the Catalyst Control Center seemed be working, but when i tested StarCraft 2 it was a slide show.
Im having problems with StarCraft 2, its like 3 fps, terrible. And yes, the CCC is set to run SC2 in High Performance.
Can someone help me?
