New Dell Inspiron 1750 Video running slow and choppy. Audio is fine. Please help.

Hi,

I have a brand new Dell Inspiron 1750.  I purchased it in April, but am just now using it.  I have not added or installed anythiing yet.  My internet connection is fine.  Videos are playing normally on my old laptop, but are playing choppy and slow on this new one.  Video is playing, but is playing almost in slow motion...you can see each frame (if that makes sense).    Any help or suggestions?  I don't want to add or download anything.  This is a brand new laptop and shouldn't have this problem.  Is there something I can check to see if it's running properly?  I am also having a problem in Yahoo email with the keyboard typing extrememly slow.  Thank you so much for any help...I truly appreciate it!  I'm so frustrated.
