daisychain,

Does it work correctly if you use the s-video connection?  I will be looking into this, as there is another user with this problem, but they are trying to use the s-video and composite video.

If you could add your Service Tag number to your profile (where it is only visible to the Moderators and Liaisons) it would help me with tracking this issue.

Please check and make sure that you have the latest BIOS and video and audio drivers installed on your system.

Actually, even if I connect both S-video and Digital S/PDIF audio, I am not getting the audio output. If I disconnect the s-video connection, then the S/PDIF audio works just fine. Any help in this would be appreciated.

How can I send you the service tag number. I checked the preferences page, it says I can publish the service tag numbers to friends/all/none. There was no option to make it visible only to moderators. Secondly, I could not find where to add friends.

I have included my Dell Inspiron E1505's Service Tag # in the profile as per your request.

daisychain,

Go ahead and mark it none.  I should be able to see it.

I am still in the gathering information phase, so please be patient while I look into this.

EDIT: I can now hear digital audio, but it just repeats a 1 sec clip 5 times and then jumps forward to a new 1 sec bit and repeats.

I am having a similar problem with S/PDIF digital audio output.  I am using Dell's 044CTV Dongle to access the digital audio coax connection on my E1505.  The coax signal is then converted to an optical Toslink signal and input to my DD/DTS compatible receiver.  My receiver does not have a coax connection for digital audio.  The receiver's optical input and DD/DTS decoder work OK.  Stereo sound via the headphone jack works OK.  I have the most current audio drivers and the Audigy Advanced MB package.  I want 5.1 sound for DVD playback and video games.  Thanks in advance.
