XPS 13 display problems / screen goes fuzzy - after windows 10 upgrade

Since upgrading my xps13 L321x to windows 10, my display goes fuzzy/glitching/corrupted after a few minutes of use, you can still make out what's on the screen but its very fuzzy.

Once it goes fuzzy, If I close the lid, and open the lid, then I'm presented with the login screen which looks ok again, and when I log on then the display is ok, for a couple of minutes

This started immediately after the windows 10 update.

Please help

I experienced this problem on my XPS 13 once I upgraded from windows 7 to 8, and have still got the issue with windows 10 although it has been less frequent.

I have got a script on my desktop which turns the screen off and you can wake it back up by moving the mouse, this seems to fix the problem.

I have had this issue for quite sometime and have never found somebody else reporting the same thing!

Same thing happens to me on my dell inspiron 14. when i press the screen disable button, and then turn it back on, that helps for a little while.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this?!

Same laptop, exactly the same symptoms after windows 10 updated. Tried different version of video/chipset drivers but no help. Tried clean install of windows 10, but again no help.

Also, it seems this becomes more frequent when a metro app (mail/news) is in use.

I have a client experiencing the same display issue on his XPS 13 L321X . We did a fresh install of Windows 10 Home 64bit - fully patched.

The client previously had an issue with their track pad, where it wouldn't scroll with two fingers. We resolved that by installing a newer Cyprus track pad driver from Dell Downloads.

We notice that the issue seems to occur generally when using the track pad, so we uninstalled the newer driver and tried both Microsoft Driver and Dell Recommended driver from support - the issue continued to occur regardless of the track pad driver.

We installed the Intel Driver Update utility to verify the graphics driver is current - no updates found.

We have updated the BIOS (A08) to the latest version available and reset to default settings.

Any assistance/suggestions in the matter would be appreciated.

Update to anyone that gets this problem (and its NOT the screen flickering problem described in the link in one of the replies below).

Hi Ian,

The problem you are describing is screen flicker, not the same as what I'm experiencing, my screen goes fuzzy and alligned to the left (like part of the screen is overlapping the other, not flickering like in the link you provided.

I have tried to remove the screen drivers and re-install - the problem still persist.

I did try the bios change as described in the link on one of the replies in this post, the problem persists.

I tried to update the bios, still get the issue.

I have now reverted back to windows 7 and hey the problem is Gone!!!!! ..... Looks like I'm sticking with Windows 7 as the laptop works great with windows 7!!! (ps:  the touch pad 2 finger scrolling now works again!)

The other symptoms are the same, closing the lid and opening fixes it for a while, just waiting for a while and it goes normal for a while, disabling the screen and enabling the screen also fixes it for a while.

I have tried to remove the screen drivers and re-install - the problem still persist.

Same issue here on XPS 13 L321X.  Random screen fuzz on sides.  Trackpad issue too and driver from Windows Update version  2.5.1.72 does not correct issue with Windows 10.   There needs to be another driver update so the track pad stops disappearing at random.

I am experiencing the same problems described in this thread.  The trackpad randomly stops working - the cursor freezes in place, requires logout or restart to fix.  Also seeing the screen problem, which seems to be related to the trackpad issues.  A slight move of the trackpad will cause the screen to go fuzzy.  Sometimes the screen will return to normal.  Another twitch of the trackpad will cause the screen to fail again.

As with others in this thread, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Cypress trackpad drivers, have confirmed the video drivers are up to date and installed the most current BIOS version.  Nothing seems to resolve the issue.

I did not at one point that Windows 10 was failing to find the Cypress trackpad software.  However, the problem continues, but Windows Event Viewer is no longer capturing errors since updating drivers.

Also, this computer was running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.  I was experiencing the trackpad freeze, but not the video issues on the previous OS's.  After upgrade to Windows 10, the video issues appeared and the trackpad freeze problem continued.

I have another XPS 13 L321X in the family that is not experiencing these issues.

Same computer, same issue, clearly related to the trackpad after Windows 10 upgrade.
