3490 M.2 drive
My Latitude 3490 came with a 128gb M.2 SATA drive (B+M form factor). The socket looks like it will take an M type connector, and the manual mentions an NVME drive option; Can I simply substitute an M.2 NVME drive?

Yes, the specs state an NVMe/PCIe SSD is compatible. And Crucial also lists those drives as compatible.

Thanks! The Latitude is replacing a couple of my old laptops, so the M.2 form factor is new to me, and I've come to quickly realise what a minefield it is with it's various (incompatible) pin, slot and bus options.

What all PCIe NVME SSD speed is supported on DELL 3490. Is there any limitations due to the
PCIe GenX on 3490. Not sure what PCIe Gen it uses on the motherboard.
ex : 2000MB/Sec or >6000MB/Sec
