5501 does not sleep

Hello there,

I have a Latitude 5501 laptop. The problem I am experiencing is that it is not possible to put the computer to sleep. When I intend to do so (from within the start button, power button on the PC, or automatically after some time expires set in power options), the screen goes blank, the power button led is still on and the PC fan keep spinning. If I press a a key or move a mouse, the screen instantly turns on. The screen has the screen lock on, but I dont need to enter the password.

I am using windows 10 64 bit. I have updated the bios with these drivers 5 mins a go. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=n8x7v&oscode=wt64a&productcode=latitude-15-5501-laptop

I do not have any missing drivers in the device manager.

I would appreciate all help.

Same thing with my 5501 laptop. I originally had this issue with this specific laptop. After hours of troubleshooting, I was able to fix it (not sure what I did). Fast forward until now and the problem has shown up again. I have a feeling that it is related to Dell's latest driver and/or bios updates. The problem for me didnt start occurring again until after I updated. I didnt notice it right afterwards (usually my laptop is docked), however, that is the only major change since it was previously working properly.

@bremen-pl Which BIOS are you at? I first noticed problems with only the latest 1.10.1 BIOS. It used to sleep like a charm, almost instantly and wake instantly too. Now I slap the screen and put my laptop into backpack only to find it hot and with one third battery drained. If that is indeed the feature then I say "no, thank you" to such progress...

So long no fix, I even reinstalled the latest Windows 20H2.

The following sleep states are available on this system:
Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) Network Connected
Hibernate
Fast Startup

Mine has exactly the same problem.

In addition, when closing the laptop, the complete network goes down in the company. This is run by a Cisco RV345. Why do these companies let us pay a lot of money for such  ? In 2020 ?
