DELL Drivers

I have a DELL Latitude 5300 and I need to update its drivers.

But that's a problem, as the DELL SupportAssist application refuses to run.

It keeps complaining that it wants .NET, however, .NET is already installed.

I've even tried installing the latest version of the SupportAssist app, but that just hangs and refuses to install.

Any ideas?

For a Latitude released in 2019 ... between what you started with and what Windows-Update tossed you over the years ... as long as your Device Manager doesn't have any errors, you should be fine.

There are various versions of .NET and they all (well most) run in parallel to each other, so you just install them all (and keep them updated) as requested.

@Tesla1856

My Antivirous software keeps winging that my Dell Drivers are out of date.

My system is getting random crashes which appear to be Dell Driver related.

I've owned this Laptop since June 2023 and I have kept .NET and Windows 10 up to date.

At no point in the past nearly 3 years have I managed to get the Support Assistant program to actually work. It complains about .NET every time, even though .NET is up to date and all installed versions are active.

It would be nice if I could just run the Dell Support Assistant software and update my drivers.

Even trying to reinstall Dell Support Assistant doesn't work; it just hangs.

@MichaelBlucher ,

Windows-10 is EoL and mainstream support ended long ago.

I already told you how .Net works. When it complains about it being missing, you follow the links to go get it installed over the top of what you have.

Yes, the magic of Dell-Update and Support-Assist is alluring, but Windows-Update can easily provide all the base drivers for a older business-class Dell laptop to work properly.

But if you insist, there is a whole forum-section devoted to getting it working. You can post there about it:

I've already installed the latest .NET, that does not solve the problem at all.

I'll have a look at the other link.

@MichaelBlucher

use DELL Command | Update instead of supportassist.
