Dell E5570 i7 6820hq with NVMe SSD
Hello all,
I am interested to know if this system will work with the latest NVME m.2 SSD providing maximum speed declared for that SSD. For example Samsung EVO 970, sequential read speed of 3500 MB/s, etc. I know that there was some discussion regarding Dell E5570 only halving this speed due to the use of power saving mode GT2 instead of GT4 but there was no mention of the CPU used in those configurations.
I am not sure why the users reported halved speed - was it due to CPU not being from H series (6820hq is H series CPU) or if it was H series, than it is halved due to it being used in GT2 mode which can't be changed.
Could someone please clarify this. Thank you. I am planning to have NVME SSD at M.2 slot but I want to choose the one giving me the most speed at the best price. Don't want to spend too much money just to see speed being halved.
