At first, pls no caps!

If BIOS is locked do this steps:
- reboot the machine, press F2 when DELL logo splash screen shows up and enter the correct pw.

If HDD is locked do this steps:
- install another HDD/SSD the the machine and (re-)-install the OS

It is a powerup/CMOS password.

If this is a recent used purchase, contact the seller -- if they cannot or will not provide the password, return the system for a refund.  Otherwise, add the cost of a system board to the purchase price of the system.

If you are the registered (with Dell) owner of the system, you can call for support and ask to have the system unlocked, but just one support call will cost twice what the system is worth.

If you purchased it on eBay, file a return reason = Not As Described. The seller is required to send you a shipping label for you to print and use to return the laptop.
