dual boot linux mint
I just got this laptop and I am trying to dual boot linux mint. It will not install because it detects bitlocker which is not enabled.. I am hopeing I can get some help here as the linux community is blaming it all on windows. I donl't see a way to add a second drive to this thing and use the boot option window.

If the drive is as-shipped from Dell, the operating mode is set to IRST/Intel RAID on. Unless the Linux distribution supports that (most don't), the installer won't see the drive.
You can switch the operating mode to AHCI (raid off) but will either need to configure Windows through safe mode, or reinstall it afterward -- if you change the drive mode without reconfiguring or reinstalling, Windows will no longer boot thereafter.

I tried what you suggested even though I did not have any trouble seeing the drive. after all I got as far as linux saying during install that I detected bitlocker. It still does the same thing.with bitlocker not enabled

Nothing is working. Is there away to disable something in drive security in the BIOs? All I did was do a clean install of windows and it came up with drive encrypted in drive management. I am willing to reinstall windows.. This is a Latitude 5590
