E5530 mSata
Hello everyone, I use this laptop and I am very ok with it, even if it is an old model it still works very well.
I recently buy a msata 1/2 mini and it doesn't recognize it, I also tried in the WWAN port and still no result, on youtube I saw other dell models that immediately recognized the WWAN port.
a little help, some ideas. Thank you for the answers

The mainboard will never see the drive in setup (F2 at powerup) -- so even if you can get the drive to work, it cannot be used as a boot drive.
The questions is whether or not it shows up in the disc administrator under Windows. If it does, you can partition and format it as a storage (but not boot) drive. If not, the system does not support it.

yes, it does not see it as a storage unit in Windows disk manager.
my frustration is why it doesn't recognize it , the slot is on the motherboard....why?!🤬

That slot is designed for a communications card (WWAN/WLAN) -- it's not designed for a storage device.
Some models have slots capable of either -- apparently this model does not.
