First thing to do is remove the new RAM and disconnect the battery from the mainboard. Hold the power button for 30 sec. Install only the original RAM one module at a time in each socket. If one module works in both sockets, but the other does not, that leaves one faulty module. If neither module works in either socket, note that the chances of two modules failing separately at the same time are very l low. Given that the new RAM doesn't work either, it likely means the modules are probably fine -- but the mainboard is bad.
