Please try performing a Hard Reset:

1. Disconnect any external devices including the AC adapter (and battery if possible)

2. Hold the power button down for 20~30 seconds

3. Bypass any power strips, surge protectors or battery backups

4. Verify the wall outlet is functional

5. Plug only the AC adapter/battery back into the laptop

6. Attempt to power on the system and finish the update.

If that does not solved the issue, proceed to the next step.

1. Remove the AC adaptor and wait for the battery to drain completely (it can take minutes or hours depending on the battery level).

2. After the battery drained completely, connect the AC adapter back and press the Power button for 25 to 40 seconds until the battery charging LED blinks twice and then the release power button.

3. Once that is done, check if the update was complete and you have the new BIOS installed.

Hello,

I have two latitude 3520 with the same problem , No reaction with Button Power (10s, 30s, and 60s) without adaptor, i contact the support

They purpose me to put CTRL+ECHAP and connect Ac adaptor, same problem

I resolve the problem with :

- disassembly the bottom case

- disconnect battery

- connect battery

- reboot latitude 3520

- message "dell bios firmware failed the bios was corrupted, restore with backup bios"

- system boot ok

- i check Dell command update tools (no further update).

Perhaps the dell support retire this corrupted bios on the website.

just pull the power and let the battery drain. It will auto shut down below 50% battery power

Yeah, just wait the discharge of the battery, when full empty.

Plug the AC, and put Power On 30s for launch the backup bios to flash.

The system reboot ok after that

I have 5 of these so far Latitude 3520 all failed at the 0% saving manifest. One I rebooted several times, and it came back up fine. 2 others are sitting at Bios recovery Power inadequate. this is after I pulled the back off and disconnected the battery. they are both connected to AC power. an idea on what to do next?

Must be a fault with the BIOS update as I have had the exact same problem with a brand new 3520 today.

I am just waiting for the battery to drain overnight then will try powering it back up tomorrow.

More of a problem was the fact I was configuring this laptop remotely and after it got stuck I obviously could no longer connect to it so had to make a special trip into the office, and will also have to make another trip to the office tomorrow to get it (hopefully) rebooted.

Thanks to those who came up with the solution, I probably would not have thought of that.

Had a user with a 3520 experience this. The 2 noted fixes work. I chose to disconnect battery, reconnect, power on and it completed the previously stuck Firmware update.

Hoping the 80 3520s we just deployed last month don't all do this, or I am going to have a bad week.
