Keyboard initialization failure!
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem than drr49, so I copy his post:
"...A week ago, on starting, I got this screen msg:
Alert! Keyboard initialization failure.
To continue press F1 key. To change setup option press F2 key. To run onboard diagnostics press F5.
I ran the diagnostics, and everything is fine. But this alert hapens almost on every start now, and sometimes when I press the power button, absolutely nothing happens on the screen, tho the light for the HD comes on. And now it can take several minutes of press and re-press on the power key to get it to boot, and then, sometimes, get the above alert, but sometimes not.
Anyone have experience with this problen, or thoughts on what needs to be done to get back to a normal start.
Thanks."
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

You need to include your own info to get help-- model computer and operating system to start as well as anything you have already tried and any diagnostic lights sequence.

It's a dell Latitude E6230 with 8g ram (2*4) and 500g SSD. I work on a dual boot Debian / windows 10 pro
I tried: to empty capcitor (disconnect power and battery)
Turn on without power / without battery and just power.
Update bios (currently A11, there is A19) but it didn't work because it didn't reboot after shutdown.
I remove Ram, reverse slot
When it starts correctly I have all the led light up (power, battery and hdd), in first there is the Dell mark and after the alert Keyboard initialization... If I press F1 for skip I have my dual boot...
When it doesn't start (9 times out of 10), I just have the led of power and battery, not the HDD. The caps lock led light up for one second and off. I do a hard shutdown and the led of hdd just light up too and of with the other.
In the log of bios events there is no date and no time for the alert Keyboard then there is for alert changing ram
Sorry for my English

Dell Lattitude E6530, Windows 10 Service Tag <Private data removed from public view. DELL-Admin>, Build 4236.24 Ran Diagnostics (No issues) and get the same F1 Keyboard Initialization Failure message on Bootup, yet it reacts to the F keys when pressed.
