Latitude E6520 graphics
I've got a 2013 latitude e6520 with NVIDIA NVSTM 4200M GF119. I've got a 4k UHD samsung screen.
I link up the HDMI port of the laptop via a HDMI cable to the HDMI of the samsung screen.
The max resolution I can get is 1680x1050. Above that, it's all messed up. The laptop's own screen has 1920x1080.
I suppose that's a limitation of the NVIDIA 4200M.
Is there any simple replacement of the graphics card I can do , or a external one I can add/attach?

No, to both questions. If you need to drive that monitor, you need a (much) newer system with a much more capable GPU.
