Mouse not working.
Hi there, I am a user of a Dell Latitude E5430 laptop and I felt like I wanted to use an optical mouse instead of the touchpad. So I plugged in my mouse through the USB port but it doesn't work. When I plug in or click the left/right buttons I hear a sound but when I move the mouse the cursor doesn't move in the screen. And a notification pops up saying that my mouse malfunctioned and that Windows did not recognise that device. But I guess the mouse is working because the red light under it is blinking. Please someone help me out of this as soon as possible and also about the keyboard layout problem I posted before this .
Best Regards,
Tyeberg.

The mouse might not be compatible. What model is it? It will be on the back of the mouse. The red light is supposed to be a solid red. Blinking means it is not connecting or is not working. Try a diff usb port or a diff mouse.

There is no name of the mouse model. One question is this Dell US or Dell UK?
Please say that. Best Regards

@Mary G
Hi there, maybe my mouse is not working so I'll try switching to a new USB mouse and see whether that fixes this problem. And the keyboard layout always keeps on changing, please help me fix that.
Best Regards,
Tyeberg.

You've been posting several questions about this laptop of yours.
Sounds like you bought a dud.

This kind of issue may be caused by software conflicts and incompatibility of drivers on your PC. It would be great if you can provide us more information about this issue.
To access the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter, click the Start button, type Troubleshooting then press Enter. Select Configure a device, if prompted click Yes or enter the administrative password. Follow the on-screen instructions. The Hardware and Devices troubleshooter will diagnose and fix your PC for any hardware issue found.
To find out the version and build number of your Windows 10 PC, click the Start button, type winver then press Enter.
We're looking forward to your response.

Yeah, maybe you are right. This laptop of mine isn't brand new, it's a used one and it seems like the previous owner did not have much love for his laptop.
Best Regards,
Tyeberg.

Hey,
Here are some possible problems are-
1. The USB ports available - The USB port in your lappy may not working condition. Yes, you said already it's blinking but the port may not in working condition. You should try a mouse/USB stick on the port to ensure it's working.
2. USB port in the hub - You can try USB devices to ensure that these ports are working fine.
You can do manual windows update to make sure that, the windows is up to date with the latest drivers for devices. You can also download and install the genuine driver of the USB hub from the website supplier.
I would recommend the mouse click tools if your mouse is not in working.
You can check it here. And this click simulator also.
Let me know if the above solution works for you or not.
Thanks.
