Using a different power supply should not damage your HDD; the drive is powered via the HDD controller.  Do be sure though, to use the correct power supply for your specific computer.

I am not quite sure of what you're asking.  Can you use a 65W power supply in place of the 90W supply if you remove the HDD?  If that is the question, the answer is that it doesn't quite work that way.  If your computer came with a 90W supply, chances are your computer needs that size power supply to safely charge the battery AND allow you to use the computer at the same time it's charging.  If you try and use a 65W supply, you'll probably ruin it and "may" damage your computer.

I mean, will it damage your hdd ? like exposing it to bad sectors?
