Touchpad covering wearing off
Latitude E6540 (see screenshot)
The middle part got scratched too much somehow, and now the outer layer (whatever it is made out of) is flaking off and being annoying.
Ideally I'd like to scrape this off and reapply a similar or identical covering, but I'm not sure what was used or how to best apply it or something similar.
I've heard it may be called an "oleophobic" coating, but I'm not sure if that's what that is. I suppose whatever's good for a touchpad.

Given that touchpad/palmrest assemblies for this model are around $30, it'll be simpler and cheaper to replace the part rather than paint (just about the only thing you could try) the existing one.

I've read that it's difficult to replace the assembly, so... do you know the type of coating the touchpad used? I could only compare price and difficulty after knowing that.
