Touchpad driver offered for Latitude 7490 does not recognize device
Hello,
after installing Windows Server 2022 on my Latitude 7490, everything I need appears to work correctly. Just the touchpad does not work, which makes the laptop cumbersome to work with. The touchpad does work in Tumbleweed, SLES15 and SLED15.
The site at dell.com lists a "Dell Touchpad Driver" for this specific device, namely "Dell-Touchpad-Driver_2VV2N_WIN_10.3201.101.216_A10.EXE". But it does not recognize the touchpad, the setup.exe simply states "This driver does not support your touchpad.".
There is this additional detail shown in the download page: "Do install the Intel serial IO driver before installing this update. It avoids touchpad issues on supported systems that run Windows 10 operating system.".
Does anyone happen to know what that "Intel serial IO driver" actually is? It is not clear to me which one in the list of available drivers refers to this specific driver.
I used "Dell-Command-Update-Application_714J9_WIN_4.8.0_A00.exe", in the hope this tool will automatically install each and every driver. While it did install a number of drivers, it specifically did not recognize the need for the touchpad driver.
To make a long story short: How do I get the touchpad working?
