Area-51m, Ubuntu 18.04 support?

Hello Dell Community,

I love Alienware Area-51m and I want to buy it. But I am Ubuntu user .So can I install Ubuntu easy. If so, is there any specifications I have to choose before ordering it online?

Thank you

    Hi,

We do not offer Ubuntu as an option for this system. However, you can technically install the Ubuntu operating system using a bootable USB. Finding drivers might be an issue. We recommend that you search online for tutorials on how to do this.

Best way would be to shrink the OS partition and install ubuntu SIDE BY SIDE along with windows 10.

You can also make a live usb flash drive with casper persistence file.

18.04 LTS is the current version.

Please update us with how Ubuntu worked out for you on this machine. My concern is the use of Killer WiFi being Linux compatible.
