Audio stops working when plugging headphones

Question

Hi,

I have this strange problem where the audio on my 5510 stops working when plugging headphones.

I see the headphone selection dialog but from that point onward there is no audio, even when I unplug the headphone.

The strange thing is that there is no audio at all even if I restart the laptop. The only solution is a complete powerdown.

Using the latest BIOS - 01.02.00

Update: If I run the following commands several times, at some point audio will return without having to power down device. pulseaudio -k && sudo alsa force-reload

I've been experiencing this running Linux 4.7.0 with the 01.02.10 BIOS. Between this and unpredictably inconsistent use of the display brightness hotkeys, the laptop is starting to be quite irritating.
