Dell Portable Thunderbolt 3 SSD linux support
I am considering to purchase the 1TB version of this external SSD. Will it work out of the box on my 9360 running Ubuntu 18.04 with kernel 4.19.8?

Answering my own question became possible after purchasing the SSD. Upon plugging it in I was asked to authorize the new thunderbolt device, and it became mounted right away. Hope it will operate smoothly.
