Disappointing XPS 13 developer edition configurations...
Why does Dell insist on either:
a) Forcing all the new developer edition models to have a touchscreen. QEMU & Synaptic on touchscreens does not play well on X, haven't tried Wayland. But I do a lot of virtualization and have already been burned by this (specifically not being able to horizontally scroll on the trackpad)
b) In the non-developer edition lineup there is no configuration for an i7, 16gb ram, non-touchscreen and an Intel graphics card
I've been hoping Dell would come to their senses after the gen 4 X1 carbon ditched the touchscreen - but they haven't.

I actually wonder why we can't completely customize this machine: processor, screen, HD, Ram? Wish it was just one listing "XPS 13", then in checkout you add/delete components?
Apple does this and its simple. My grandmother can order a computer and know what she's getting, or I can geek out and completely customize. Either way, we get what we both want at a fair price.
Some of the Dell configs make sense, but clicking each one then adding/deleting 1-2 allowed components to get closest to the PC I want...feels cumbersome...and also like I'm ending up w/ a couple things I may not want (e.g. more ram, touchscreen if choose i7 processor, etc).
As a longtime PC user who switched to Mac for 8yrs, now wants to come back and use Linux...this really could not be more frustrating process to give someone my money.
