Linux or Windows?
My family gave me an Inspiron 6000 as a going a way present for college. I have come to the realization more and more of how slow Windows really is. I have worked with Linux at home on my desktop before (Mandrake 8.x)... I know a little bit of Linux and the lingo...
I was just wondering if any of you thought it would be a good idea to install Mandrake 10.1 or Mandriva 2006 on my system. My only reasoning for it would be for better performance while in class... sometimes I'll be waiting for MS Word to come up or PowerPoint to come up, and by the time they did, I forgot what my professor had said prior to that. I know how much faster Linux would be... and I've seen that it has been done now on Inspiron 6000's and general notebooks with Centrino technology.
What do you think I should do?
