Linux wont boot after BIOS update to A10

Hey guys,

I own an inspiron 3520, preinstalled with ubuntu.

I then dual booted it with kali linux and windows for a while, until Dell recommended me to upgrade my BIOS to A!0. That's where the problem starts. Windows runs better, but the linux doesn't even boot.

It shows the initial stuff ( [ok] started *some service*) and when it reaches the starting login service part, it fails again and again.

I tried installing them again ( both the OSs). No changes whatsoever-WIndows boots fine, but the linux was hopeless.

I suspected the bios update (obviously). Downgraded it to A03.

Now, I'm in deep trouble. I can't install any of the OSs.

It takes an infinite amount of time to access the hard disk ( it works when it feels like it wants to)

There is no proper management of the resources(the cd drive and the hard disk barely work together when installing an OS, causing a lot of time delay).

So, my question is, should I open up the whole thing and reset the cmos and clear the nvram after downgrading bios?

By the way, right now I'm live booting linux-without any issues, except that the hard disk doesn't show up now.

Thanks for your time.
