M3800 Developer Edition Bios Upgrade Question
I am currently running A08 bios, and noticed that the newest is A10 as far as I can tell. A09 lists "Improved GPU performance". I've never done a BIOS upgrade, but it seems fairly straightforward to do, however does anyone know any more specific details about this apparent improved performance? If it is like a 0.1% performance gain then I probably won't bother, but if there is some noticeable increase then I may want to do an upgrade.

I think Dell probably wouldn't list the GPU improvement if it were a statistically insignificant value like 0.1%. There may be other fixes that aren't listed. It is hard to tell.

I went and looked for the "BIOS Flash Update" as described on this page www.dell.com/.../updating-the-dell-bios-in-linux-and-ubuntu-environments but that option wasn't there? Is that option not available for the m3800 or is there something lse that I need to enable? I got it in Feb 2015.

It seems there are at least two releases of the M3800, ~November 2013 and ~Jan 2015. Maybe your system straddled the line between the various methods of BIOS updating due to when it was engineered and released. If the method in section 2 of the above link you posted does not work, use the method described in sections 3 and 4. A FreeDOS bootable USB drive should work.
