XPS 9380 ubuntu setup

Dear All,

Thank you for your attention. I'm considering getting the top-end 9380 developer edition, but want to make sure it'll work to my liking. There seems to be indication that the linux version work to some degrees, but also some report that there are some XPS problems that might or might not have been solved: wifi, ports, etc https://www.dell.com/community/Linux-General/Dell-XPS-13-9380-Thunderbolt-3-USB-Type-C-stopped-working/m-p/7248637#M16606

I'll need to do the following, simultaneously on Linux:

1. connect to two external monitors in "portrait" orientation (90-degree rotated), so I can use the laptop's keyboard+touchpad to work with all three screens with no flickering, etc. (for example the mouse pointer can go from the edge of one screen to another with predetermined adjacency)

2. have stable connection to ethernet

3. have stable connection to wifi

4. connect to power

Do I need to buy docking? or is there enough (properly working) ports to achieve this already

As trivial as it seems, my experience with a purchase several years ago was that it simply could not be solved, even with a full-time IT support plus Dell business support.

XPS 13 9380 appears to be working well with Ubuntu and Virtualbox with assorted clients other than USB C issues at this time.   Thumb drives are working, but not reliable with other devices.  Some OS options were not happy with the Intel UHD 620, but Ubuntu went without a hitch.  Tiny on the 4k display, but adjust scaling in Ubuntu and Virtualbox and you’re good.  Just be aware that you may have warranty issues based on the Dell return page.  Max out the ram at purchase time as it is not upgradable, but the M.2 NVMe is.
