AlienFX Software Bug

Hello, my name is Zack and I've had this Alienware 14 since 2014. It's working great, but Ever since I got it I noticed a bug that kinda frustrating in regards of AlienFX.

Online of even in the Alienware alienFX presets, you can select a few pre-made themes people share. Now, once these themes are enabled to AlienFX, they work. Now here is the thing. If I try to disable or add/remove new events the touchpad or the LEDs on the top right, (section 8 & 9) it simply grays out and doesn't let you modify them. The only thing you can do is change color of these lights, but there isn't a way to turn them off at all.

Now, a way around this, is to completely create your own theme... When you create a theme yourself everything works fine! But once you either download a theme or simply use the ones that came with Command Center you're doomed to have these 2 specific sections on.

I don't understand it why it is like this. These themes are complex and beautiful. I can't copy them without spending hours to replicate them, just to be able to turn off my touch pad LED lights.

I'm hoping I'm bringing this to attention. I really like this one theme but I hate the touchpad blinding me at night. >.<

Hello Eimy.

I formatted my laptop last night so everything is up to date. The format itself wasn't the cause of the problem since it was always like this since day one.

As for the Bios, there is no option for ON/OFF touch-pad light. There's only AUTO/ON. I did install all the latest drivers from Dell's website. Including the BIOS A09.

Hi ZaDoo‌,

Follow ALL the steps on this article: How to Remove and Reinstall the Alienware Command Center. So try reinstalling the Command Center.

Also just in case there is an option in the Bios to turn the touch-pad ligth ON/OFF. Enter the BIOS (F2) > Advance tab > Touchpad backlight.

What Windows version do you have? And also, what Command Center version are you installing?

I suppose this problem will remain a mystery.
