Alienware 17 R1 Alien fx stopped working

Hey guys ,

I hope i can get some help on an issue that i have been facing on my Alienware 17 laptop for quite some time now. Basically the laptop functions like a freaking beast. Totally in love with it. But one day all the lights on my laptop just stopped working. Even on the task bar where the alien head is , it doesnt show the " Go Light " option and also when i did the " Alienfx tester" it shows BOARD NOT DETECTED. it was working perfectly and then all of a sudden it just stopped all together. I have done tons of google searches and found a lot of people with the same issue.

Now i have tried reinstalling the command centre as a fresh install , reinstalling the .NET framework, did a couple of fresh installs of windows. This issue has been on my laptop since winows 8.1 and also now on Windows 10. If there is a win 10 version of command centre i dont know about please do put in a link .

The even more crazier part is that sometimes even when command centre isn't even installed the lights pop up , and start changing colours and then switch off. Once its off , then it wont start up again. I dont know what to do. If there is any other information i can give please do ask. I really wanna get this sorted. This laptop is my daily driver and i do everything from  work & game on it. So i really wish that DELL can pay a little more attention to Alienware customers like us who have spent a lot of money on a piece of equipment but solutions are very bleak.

Hope to hear from you guys. A lot of forums i have posted but people arent even responding at all. Tweeted Alienware like dozens of times , but to no avail as well. Called the service team and they also have done such a shabby job as well.

    Hello,

It seems like you have done the recommend troubleshooting steps for this type of issue. Unfortunately, this could be a hardware failure with the Master IO board, which would require a replacement in order to fix this issue. Check in Device Manager, under USB Controllers and confirm if you see any unknown devices or errors. Click here for the Windows 10 supported version of the Command Center. If you would like to inquire on the repair options for your system, send me a PM with your Service Tag.

Be sure you have the latest BIOS first.

    Product support for Alienware 17

Looks like your latest version is here:

Command Center 3.6 for Notebooks Driver Details | Dell US

Uninstall old one and reboot before you try to install it.
