Ok here we go.

I recently purchased the new top of the line Alienware x51 model, the model that has the 3.4 ghz i7 with the gtx 660 video card. The first computer I received was broken, or at least I thought it was. I was having the issue where if I tried to do anything other than browse the web the fps would drop to 4 or 5 and I would get sound distortion until the computer locked up. It wasn't until after I had received the replacement that I found the thread about the drivers.

Now in the replacement computer I am having what I assume to be case vibration issues. I would also like to note that the replacement computer is MUCH louder even idle than the computer I sent back. I have seen a post from another user, however the problem was never solved at least on that thread. A strange vibrating noise comes and goes and if I apply slight pressure to the bottom right side of the case it will stop until I let go. I called dell tech support and they sent me out new case sides. Had a dell tech come out and replace the case sides and while the vibrating sound that comes and goes is quieter it is still occurring.  Applying pressure to the bottom right side of the case still fixes the problem until I let go. The only way I have been able to eliminate this issue is by laying the computer on its side. While the dell tech was very nice he had to use another computer of mine to access the internet to figure out how to remove the side of the case, which leaves me with little faith in the dell tech crew.

I have read on the forum that the most likely cause is the DC brushless fan either on the cpu or behind the alienware head logo. Can anyone confirm this? I am fed up with dell's phone tech support and am thinking of just getting a refund. I mean after six phone calls between tech support and the replacement department they couldn't even properly change the e-mail associated with my account. They kept trying to use a phone number and e-mail address that was used six years ago when we bought a laptop for my mothers work (this was with the billing department I guess, whoever handled the replacement).  

While I can still play games I have never had this much trouble with a computer that was pre-built or even those that I built myself. I spent the extra money so that I would not have to deal with these kinds of problems, but in reality the 400 dollar Asus tower i bought pre-built has had less issues than this 1500 dollar top of the line computer. How long until I have an issue with something else in the computer? I wont even stand it vertically for fear that something is going to rattle loose and cause real damage. Had I built the computer myself I would feel much more comfortable trying to trouble shoot hardware without support.

So my question is this, will replacement fans fix the issue I am currently having or should I just get a refund and end this perpetual nightmare with dell. I mean I can't even talk to someone in the US since they sent all their phone support to India or Malaysia, and yes I know this is true because I talked with someone that works for dell in the US.
