Install additional SSD on Alienware 15R2
Can I upgrade the SSD on my Alienware 15 R2 laptop so that I can install the 1TB version of the Samsung 960 EVO nVME SSD and at same time keep the factory fitted 256GB SSD?
I can do a fresh install using the Dell System Disk provided for download.

Hi praveenvj,
The system has 2 M.2 ports and a 2.5 "port that also accepts SSDs.
Samsung EVO SSD's may not work at 100%. There are some compatibility issues with certain firmware versions of those that can cause no boot, or the SSD not being recognized. We do recommend the PM851 and PM951 from Samsung.

Unfortunately the PM951 series is sold only to OEM vendors. Those available on retail are mostly fake / refurbished.
If the EVO gives problems, will the 960 Pro nVME SSD work?

That one should work. The PM951 and PM851 can still be obtained on Amazon and eBay at a reasonable price.
