I have an alienware MX15  with i3 cpu  and g240m graphic card in it as stock and 8 gig of ram.

I have powered up my laptop today and the display is just lights up a shade of grey and nothing displays

however when attaching the on-board vga to external display this works fine.

any ideas of repair or how to fix and if this is worth doing.
