What exact model Alienware computer do you own?

Do you currently use a Dell Thunderbolt Dock with this computer, and/or have you ever connected one to it?

Pretty strange.

Does it appear in Devices and Printers and/or Device Manager?

I'm wondering if they pre-installed the Dock software (in case an user plugs one in, it will work ... Lenovo does that sometimes). Check Programs and Features for that software. If found, uninstall it and then reboot.

Finally I erase the SSD passing from RAID to AHCI. I've installed a clean windows and latest drivers and It's fine no. I guess that It's a bug maybe or like you said the dock sw pre-installed.

In other hand, I've installed under UEFI secure boot, Linux. Fedora, and it's working really nice, right now compilling the Nvidia drivers in Linux.

I am experiencing the same problem, however, I did have a TB16 thunderbolt dock plugged into the laptop. The problem persists with or without the dock being plugged in.

Side note: The TB16 is not compatible with Alienware 17 R4. After being very disappointed in the performance of the dock, I have received a refund and will be sending it back, but the thunderbolt dialog box is still haunting me!

Finally due I needed install linux too, I decided to delete the dell windows installation. Change RAID configuration in BIOS to Ahpi and install under UEFI boot secure both SO. Right now both SO are working really fast, and no problems.

I guess that this pop-up It's coming from a dell utility that it has bug.

I've installed only from Dell the utility (pc doctor), and Alienware apps on windows.

I am having the same issue. Just started a few days ago. I have an Alienware 17r4.

Appears when I hit the NumLock.  I have only a USB mouse on my system.

For all with this problem, I have found a "fix". I reinstalled the Alienware OSD Application from the Dell support site and the box no longer appears.

Thank you . This works for my 17 R4.

note :

 - This is a link to OSD Application.Installer fro 17 R4.

 - When installer clash, retry "EXTRACT" and execute "setup.exe" .
