Dell Hacked My Computer
I own a Dell desktop and laptop. The Dell Corporation hacked my laptop and reconfigured Internet Explorer to be their own. The symptom that revealed this was that my wireless board started failing. I managed to stabilize the connection trying more things that I really know how to do. Does anyone know how to undo the damage. Apparently they tried to do the same thing to my desktop. Suddenly, my wireless card was wiped out - nothing recognizes it. Also, my graphics card dual monitor mode became impossible to use - the flat panel screen and tv both appear as crt terminals. Tech support verified that the wireless card was bad - wouldn't talk to me about the graphics card. The next level tech was supposed to call, but never has and likely never will. Has anyone ever written to the CEO about taking back a lemon and their hacking. Thanks

Be sure to save your Bookmarks to a personal folder or a thumb drive
You will also need a copy of IE7 which you can download from Microsoft
A branded version of Internet Explorer 7 refers to a redistributed IE that has been customized (usually by using the Internet Explorer Administration Kit). These customizations may alter the default feeds and search provider, have a customized browser title, etc. This branding cannot be removed simply by uninstalling it and installing a new version. If you are currently running a branded version of IE7, and want to run it using the Microsoft defaults, do the following . . .
1. Go to the Internet Explorer directory (in the Program Files folder) and check the CUSTOM directory. If the file install.ins exists, delete it.
2. Uninstall Internet Explorer 7.
3. Install a clean version of IE7.
4. Open the Internet Explorer browser.
5. Click on Tools and select Internet Options.
6. Select the Advanced tab.
7. Under the Reset Internet Explorer settings, click the Reset button.
You can also try the steps below ... see if this key is in the Registry
Adding or Removing a Custom Window Title Manually
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
This section describes how to add or remove a custom Internet Explorer window title by manually editing the registry. To do this, use the appropriate method.
To Add a Custom Internet Explorer Window Title
Using Registry Editor, add a String value named Window Title to the following key in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
The data value is the title you want to appear on the Internet Explorer window.
NOTE: In Windows NT, the value should be of type REG_SZ instead of String.
To Remove a Custom Internet Explorer Window Title
Using Registry Editor, delete the following value in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title
When you delete this value, "Microsoft Internet Explorer" becomes the default window title.

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
I can assure you Dell has not and will not hack into any computers.

Is this guy serious? What is it that he knows "how to do"? Judging by the post he doesn't even know what a hacker is. Seems like he is a pretty inexperienced user to me and just looking to blame someone because he somehow messed up his system.
If he could explain the issue better maybe, it is something that has been covered previously and someone could help him.
