Flash

I was wondering if I could flash my Dell Dimension 4100 with an Intel BIOS (and if so, which one) as I am tired of the reliability problems with it.

Yes, you can do it.  Just be aware that the Dell BIOS is specific to the Dell propriety version of the motherboard and if you find that the Intel BIOS does not support all features of the motherboard or if there are problems, you will not be able to flash the BIOS back to the Dell version, as the Dell flash BIOS program first checks for a Dell version and if it doesn't find one, it will refuse to flash.

Thanks.  Will the Dell BIOS still stop if you use the force switch?

The "-forceit" switch when trying to flash back to a Dell BIOS won't work.  You must first hack the Dell BIOS upgrade file and change the coding which verifys what kind of BIOS is in place.  Once the file is hacked then the -forceit switch is used to flash the Dell BIOS back on the system.
