Jumpy Mouse Problem (Optical USB Wired Mouse)

:smileysad:   My mouse jumps all over the place all of the time.  It is a Dell wired usb optical mouse as supplied with the PC.  I use it on the Dell mouse mat as supplied.
Can anyone help?     Others seem to have had this problem also.

    For some, the solution has been to use a different mouse pad that is solid color. Try turning the Dell pad over and see what happens.

    I have the same mouse; it's been replaced 2 times and well it's still a piece of junk.  Dell makes very very bad optical mice so I would suggest just getting a different kind.  I'm going back to my Microsoft Wireless Explorer Mouse ... I've NEVER had any problems with that.  This Dell Mouse is a poor excuse for an optical mouse.
