Missing numlock key = solution

I have new Inspiron with the infamous keyboard.  Within this long history of posts was the solution that worked for me. Cap Lock.   When I ht it the first time, it asked for some yes/no function (can't remember that detail) and I accepted.  The Cap Lock key then activated the numeric keypad like an on/off switch. A red light appears next to the sleep button when activated.
