i want to remove the modem and everything associated with it from xps 400. since i have a wireless dsl connection i will never need to use the dialup modem that came installed and i would like to free up the pci slot it's in.

 

is it as simple as using add/remove programs (getting rid of the modem/fax programs) and then using device manager to disable that modem, shutting down and taking it out?
