Need Part # For Memory Riser Kit for Precision T7400

I tried calling to order memory + risers for the Precision T7400, but the phone tech seemed unable to provide the correct part # for the memory riser cards for the T7400. After he put me on hold to talk to tech support, he said the part # was TY853 which seem to be old poweredge server riser cards and he said they were only "refurb" available. I have a hard time believeing this is the correct part number since the T7400 is a current model high performance workstation and I doubt that the highest performance workstation that Dell makes would require a riser card that is currently discontinued and only availble in refurbished parts.

This machine requires the memory risers to reach above 64GB of memory.

Please help if you have this part #, I cannot find it anywhere. From the manual it looks like a set of 4 risers, with 4 slots per riser. I am not sure if it is a kit or if you have to buy each riser seperately.

Thanks,

David

To follow-up, I have found that the similar Precision 690 uses parts JF806/JF807 as riser pair that looks like it would work in the T7400. Can someone confirm if these are the correct part #s for memory risers for Precision T7400:

    JF806

    JF807

Bump. Anyone? Chris? This is preventing me from ordering about $4,000 worth of memory from Dell.

    Will a memory riser from a 690 work in a T7400?

I'm also looking for a User Manual for Precision T7400. If anyone has it in PDF and could send it to me, would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

    Hi,

Did you successfully install the risers? I'm thinking of doing the same but I remember when I bought the machine, the Dell site said that a retrofit was not possible.

    Thanks.

I am interested in using one of these as well.  From what I can tell, all of the parts mentioned above are also for the 690.

If I install one of these, will it run all the memory at 667MHz instead of 800?

OK thanks for the firm answer :)

What is the correct part number for the T7400 riser card?  In my searches, all of the parts mentioned above say they are for a 690.

    Thanks
