Startup Problem : Previous Fan Failure
Just today I went through with Spybot Search&Destroy and removed a bunch of spyware from my computer. It asked to reboot in order for it to clean out the remaining ones, and I hit yes. On the reboot, an error appeared before Windows began loading, and it read, "Previous Fan Failure, press F1 to start, F2 to view system setup."
I have no idea what to do to fix this, and when I look at the back of the computer (Dell 8200) the fan furthest in the back never spins. Please help, thanks.

How would I go about reseting the fan cable? I'm a complete, utter noob.

http://support.jp.dell.com/docs/systems/dim8200/techov.htm#1101668 Look at this diagram for 'microprocessor fan connector (FAN2)" located between the two RAM sockets/channels. (about 11 o'clock on this graphic).
You'll want to be sure that the fan cable is not tangled in the fan blades, then re-plug the fan to the mb to be sure the connection is good. If after doing that you still get no fan activity, the fan is dead.
You can purchase a new one from dell spare parts or ebay if you have no system warranty left.
Good luck.
