Support Assistant
After doing some windows upgrades and general maintenance on my Dell All In One I started to get some pop ups black background and they are so fast all I can read is that it is generated by the Dell Support Assistant. I have not found a setting to turn it off only to uninstall the app. I did pull up my task manager and found that the Dell Support Assistant Agent is running in services would you recommend to stop it or is there something else I am missing? I don't want to disable things unless they need to be.

I passed your concerns along to my Dell tech contacts. Assuming it's useful, the popups shouldn't disappear before you can read them.
There are settings in Win 8.1 to adjust how long notifications appear on-screen so you might try adjusting those to see if you can make the popups readable, and then you can decide if you still want it or not.

Always include PC model and version of Windows in your posts.
If you don't need Support Assistant, you can either uninstall it or try to turn it off. Exactly how depends on whether it's software or its running as a service.
At Windows desktop, search for msconfig. When you find it, right-click and select Run as Administrator. When msconfig opens click Startup tab. Look for an entry for Support Assistant and uncheck the box. Click ok to exit msconfig and reboot. You may get an alert when you reboot about running in selective startup but just cancel the alert.
See if that turns it off.

Dell Inspiron 3048 64-bit Windows 8.1
Ctrl - Alt - Delete will open task manager and shows it running as a service, it's an app installed by the company running as a service. I stopped it and will monitor things for a few days. Also stopped the Dell OSDApp and Dell Recovery and Back Up on start up. Most manufactures install their brand name services to run in the background some can be helpful others can just be annoying notifications.
Thanks for your help...
