AC Adapter Issues

My original AC adapter cord conveniently started not charging my battery just after the one year warranty expired.  After paying full price for a new one it worked on and off occasionally giving an AC adapter error.  Now the error is continuous and the battery never charges. I tried going through the troubleshooting but no luck there.  Does anyone know of a number I can to actually talk to someone about this issue?  I know the warranty is up shouldn't I still be able to actually talk to a person about it since my issue wasn't resolved in the first place without having to pay the technical support fees?

You mean the jack in the actual computer right?

Yes, the one soldered to the system board.

If the plug fits at all, the adapter is fine - it's the jack that's faulty.

Does your laptop turn on with this AC adapter?

If Yes, does the battery LED turn on?

Yeah it turns on but the battery is completely dead now so it only works plugged in.  On the actual battery no light is on I'm assuming thats the charge indicator, on the computer only the power and data lights are on the not the battery one.

Assuming you've tried a new adapter (if not, do that next), then the problem is with the system board.

I just bought a new battery, it charged to 46% but I still get the error and it says the battery won't be charged.  Any ideas?
